Photoshop’s Other Texture Filters: a Brief Run Through

Here are the other texture filters applied to the meerkat image with the method above. For each one, play with the sliders in the dialog box to get the effect you want.

First set your foreground color to black or gray (or whatever color you want the “metal solder” to be).

P.S. I used a variation of this technique with the canvas texture on several layers and at different settings to get the watercolor paper look in the lobster banner at the top of this page.
